mutations

{dress- Free People, top- Free People, shoes- Sam Edleman, bag- Cambridge Satchel Company, watch- La Mer}

Apologies for the lack of posts, I've been busy running all around. I'm going to Aruba tomorrow! So
excited to be in warm weather and be on vacation with no phone.
This weather we've been having here has been so misleading, I've learned that sun does not always equal
 warm. Its beautiful and 60 degrees one day then the next its gloomy and miserable. I originally layered a
big sweater over this maxi dress then changed in to this cropped sweater when it started to get warmer
today.

basics

{top- Forever 21, pants- James Jeans, shoes- Steve Madden}

Another one of my recent Steve Madden purchases, surprisingly these are actually really comfortable.
They don't look it, but I adore the color. It was between this purple and a nude color, realized I had
 no purple shoes in my collection so decided to go with the purple.
I've been resorting to the basics in my closet recently. But always adding a little pop of color, always
 a good touch. Plus it's been so gloomy around here recently.

color blocking

{sweater- H&M, skirt- Max & Mia, belt- Topshop, shoes- Steve by Steve Madden, bag- ASOS}

Sometimes wearing color is easier in smaller doses, like shorts or accessories. But I really had no problem
 at all adapting to the trend. In these pictures my sweater looks like a musky off white but it's really a baby
 pink pastel, sort of toned down the skirt and clutch color.
I've recently been resorting to these Steve by Steve Madden loafers because my oxfords are falling apart
 from wearing them so much. So I've been thinking about these and these.
What do ya think?

alternative

{top- American Apparel, shawl- Alternative, skirt- All Saints, shoes- Steve Madden, bag- Liz Claiborne}

This shawl thing actually serves no purpose at all. It's not warm or cozy or comfortable or anything.
Except for it being really awesome. And surprisingly the fringe doesn't tangle much, but I find myself
 constantly pulling them apart and separation them, it's distracting. Thanks to Alternative for creating
such a rad piece.

seriously super wide leg

{top- J.Crew, pants- Free People, shoes- Jeffrey Campbell, clutch- ASOS, sunglasses- Jessica Simpson}

I always feel so serious and businessie when I wear this shirt. Actually really everything from J.Crew I feel
 like that in, sort of teacher like. But if I were a teacher this is probably what I would wear.

If these aren't the widest of the wide leg pants you've ever seen then I don't know what is. They remind me
 of those really gothic pants people wear that look like they weigh a zillion pounds because theres always
 chains hanging from them.

coincidence

{sweater- American Eagle, shirt- Liz Claiborne, pants- James Jeans, shoes- Jeffrey Campbell, clutch- ASOS}

This clutch was an intentional lab top sleeve given to me by my boyfriend. Coincidental it didn't fit but
 was basically exactly what I was looking for in terms of an envelope clutch. Finally found it! Plus isn't
the color great?

With New York Fashion Week over and done with here are a few of my favorite shows:

Happy Valentines Day! I love you all.

lounge

{dress- Forever21, cardigan- All Saints, bag- Coach, shoes- Minnetonka}

Apologies for my recent absence. I've been going a little crazy over fashion week. I'm loving all the new
 patterns and all the bright new colors. My favorite shows so far have been Rag & Bone and Wayne. How
 bogus is it that Karlie Kloss isn't walking in one show? New York Fashion Week without Karlie Kloss is
 like peanut butter without jelly. Weird.

lazy

{top- Forever 21, pants Rory Beca, shoes- Jeffrey Campbell}

Cashmere pants- ridiculous, yes. The comfiest, most warm pants I've ever bought, absolutely. When I first
 saw these I thought they were a bit unnecessary,  considering I haven't taken then off since last night I
don't think I could live without them. Everyone should be born with a pair of these pants. So comfy. So
cozy. So warm.
I lazily attempted to dress the outfit up with a pair of wedges, the very least thing I could do.

rd

{dress- Forever 21, sweater- RD Style, shoes- Steve Madden}

For some strange reason I'm overly excited for Stockholm Fashion Week next week. I've
never really paid much attention to it or was every really interested but I can hardly
wait. I'm also getting a bit too much use out of this RD International Style sweater.
Difficult to match with but easily layered over a white shirt dress.
While in the airport security coming home from Florida I took the laces off my
oxfords and threw them away and now I'm wishing I didn't. All because of the
most disgusting no shoes rule while going through security.
